Dubai Airports welcomes new advisory voices to strengthen accessibility and inclusion goals
Experts bring lived experience to advance accessibility at DXB
DUBAI – Dubai Airports has announced the appointment of Paralympian Jessica Smith, Emirati disability rights pioneer Fatma Al Jassim, and inclusive advocacy foundation Team AngelWolf as strategic advisors.
The move reinforces Dubai International Airport’s (DXB) ambition to become the world’s most accessible and inclusive travel hub.
Who are the advisors?
Jessica Smith, an award-winning consultant and former Australian Paralympian, has long championed disability inclusion.
Fatma Al Jassim is a trailblazer in disability advocacy in the UAE.
Team AngelWolf, a Dubai-based family foundation, is celebrated for its Guinness World Records achieved through inclusive teamwork.
Together, they bring lived experience and expert insight to help Dubai Airports address barriers, challenge assumptions, and co-design meaningful solutions.
How will they contribute?
Majed Al Joker, Chief Operating Officer at Dubai Airports, highlighted that “true inclusion begins with listening”. By focusing on the perspectives of People of Determination, the new advisors will help shape initiatives that extend beyond infrastructure, ensuring accessibility is deeply rooted in the real experiences of travellers.
What has DXB achieved so far?
Dubai International is the first international airport worldwide to receive the Certified Autism Center designation from the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). More than 53,000 employees have already been trained in supporting travellers with hidden disabilities. This initiative ties into Dubai’s wider ambition to become a disability-friendly city, further strengthened when the city was named the first Certified Autism Destination in the Eastern Hemisphere earlier this year.
